Sheyla Hershey's breast augmentation may be lethal!

Houston's Sheyla Hershey broke the world record with her size 38KKK breasts. The Brazillian "model" has had 30 breast augmentations, and the most recent one might be the one that kills her or causes her to lose her prized possessions.
In June, Hershey went to her native Brazil to have another breast surgery and came down with a severe staph infection in both breasts. She returned to Texas for help and the doctor said she should fear for her life if the infection spreads. An aggressive course of antibiotics has helped one breast, but the second one isn't responding to treatment. She went into surgery yesterday to have the latest implants removed. That means she may have to forgo the record for having the world's largest rack

Dubai- The Metro Train

Dubai inaugurated its metro network in September 2009, becoming the first urban metro network in the Gulf's Arab states. It is hoped that the system will ease the daily commute for thousands of the emirate's workers.
With an economy increasingly based upon financial services, air transport, property development and tourism, Dubai has a rapidly growing population and severe traffic congestion problems. The population is forecast to increase by 6.4% annually, rising to three million by 2017. Tourist numbers are projected to reach 15 million in 2010.
Dubai Municipality identified the need for a rail system to relieve growing motor traffic and support continuing urban development based on studies that began in 1997. Systra was awarded the preliminary engineering contract, and Dubai Rail Link (DURL), a consortium of four companies headed by Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), is leading the project to build the first two lines of the high-tech driverless rapid transit system. The other consortium members are the Japanese Obayashi and Kajima corporations, and Yapi Merkesi of Turkey.
The metro will be fully integrated within the network operated by the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), a body created in 2005. Routes will be organised around the backbone provided by the rail system.
"The Red Line is the only route that has been completed so far. A second, the Green Line, is under construction, and three more are planned."
Around 1.74 million passengers used the metro in its first month, according to the statistics released by the RTA. The average number of passengers travelling on the Red Line has been estimated at 57,000 per day.
The Red Line is the only route that has been completed so far. A second, the Green Line, is under construction and a further three are planned. The intention is for 320km of metro lines in place in Dubai by 2020.
DURL officials are also in the process of negotiations with major local and international companies for acquiring brand naming rights – in other words, advertisement rights – for the 23 stations on Red and Green lines.

Holly- the semi cloned fish

I happen to find an interesting article from the innovation magazine, so have look at the issue yourself.

Some 8 years ago, semi-cloning was considered a scientific fiction and 26 years ago, using mice for the experiment, British scientist Sir Martin Evans attempted to make haploid embryonic stem (ES) cells. Fast-forward to 2009 and it is now a team led by Assoc Prof Hong Yunhan of the Department of Biological Sciences, who have successfully produced the world's first haploid embryonic stem cells and semi-cloned fish. Their work was published in the 16 October issue of the highly acclaimed Science magazine.
"While traditional cloning uses a 'replacement' strategy, semi-cloning adopts a 'combination' strategy. In semi-cloning, scientists combine two haploid nuclei - one haploid nucleus from the embryonic stem cell mimicking the sperm nucleus, and the nucleus of an unfertilised egg (from the mother) - using nuclear transfer," said Assoc Prof Hong.
"In the practice of nuclear transfer for the production of Holly, we introduced a haploid embryonic stem cell nucleus into a mature egg. In this way, scientists mimic the reproduction process artificially, creating offspring that carry genetic traits from both parents similar to bisexual reproduction," he added.
For the study, the team worked the Medaka fish as it shares a number of genes with humans in the area of reproduction. The Medaka fish is also easy to maintain being small in size and producing 30 to 40 eggs a day. Experimenting with fish also ensured that there would be no ethical issues.
The findings of Assoc Prof Hong have important implications for reproductive medicine and technology. With semi-cloning which is 50 to 100 times more efficient than cloning, there is hope for the treatment of infertility, in particular male infertility which is more prominent.
In addition, the NUS team's study has generated haploid embryonic stem cells which could be used to study the effect of recessive mutations of essential genes that may not be apparent in normal diploid cells. This spells the possibility of developing mammalian haploid embryonic stem cell cultures for disease analysis.
Assoc Prof Hong said that the study using the fish model took some five years and a funding of SGD1.5 million to complete. This included time for consolidation of ideas, practical and administrative work. The next step would be to conduct the study on mice which will take approximately another five years. He is also currently looking for partners in Asia for collaboration.

Medical problems caused my Mobile Phones

According to a Medical Research Institution;

Fifty Percent of Population Affected by Year 2017? The percentage of people affected throughout the world has been increasing exponentially and it is predicted that by the year 2017 over half the population may be suffering from symptoms of this disorder.

EMR/Microwaves from cell phones can cause the following symptoms:

(1) headaches, (2) heart pain and palpitations, (3) nausea, (4) inability to concentrate, (5) painful lymph nodes, and so on.
Major Symptoms: Headache, Sleep disturbances (Insomnia), Dizziness, Nausea, Heart Palpitations, Concentration Problems, Fatigue, Listlessness, Indigestion, Redness of Skin, Tingling Sensation, Anxiety Attacks, etc.
What is Electrosensitivity? Electrosensitivity is a condition where a person will feel sick when exposed to the EMR given off by electronic devices such as mobile phones and computers. Symptoms appear when the person is exposed to the offending EMR and disappear when the said person moves away and is out of range of these offending EMR.

100 doomed bicycles + 23 foot tall tree = weird Christmas tree

Believe or not, an Australian shopping center transformed 100 doomed bicycles into Christmas decorations for a 23 foot high Christmas tree! As Ed Mazza writes at AOL News, the bikes were painted green, while the wheels were given a multi-colored makeover to resemble Christmas tree lights.

Camel Crush Cigarettes

Manufactured by R.J.Reynolds company, an interesting type of cigarette intrigued me. Camel Crush, a regular hard cigarette with a menthol Crushable capsule. Camel Crush is a customizable cigarette that contains a small blue menthol capsule within the filter. Squeezing the filter bursts the menthol capsule, transforming a regular cigarette into a menthol cigarette in a matter of moments.

Here's a 'Youtube' review of Camel Crush cigarettes:

Wikianswers gave an opinionated answer to the question, "are came crush cigarette's poisonous?". they answered:

Plane Crash of Altant-Soyuz-76 in Karachi

A plane crashed in Karachi on the 28th of November 2010. It hit two buildings in Dalmia town in Gulistane-Jauhar. The demolished houses contained six families. The flight was departing for Khartoum, Sudanese capital. “It took off from Karachi at 1:45 am (20:45 GMT Saturday) and after one and a half minutes it crashed,” said George. The flight  had eight people on board.

The Ilyushin Il-76 (NATO reporting name: Candid) is a multi-purpose 4-engined strategic airlifter designed by the Soviet Ilyushin bureau. It was first planned as a commercial freighter in 1967. Intended as a replacement for the An-12, the Il-76 was designed for delivering heavy machinery to remote, poorly-serviced areas of the USSR. Military versions of the Il-76 have seen widespread use in Europe, Asia and Africa, including use as an airborne refueling tanker or as a command center.
The Il-76 has seen extensive service as a commercial freighter for ramp-delivered cargo, especially for outsized or heavy items unable to be otherwise carried. It has been used as emergency response transport for civilian evacuations and to deliver humanitarian/disaster relief aid around the world, especially to undeveloped areas due to its ability to operate from unpaved runways. A water-carrying version of the plane has been effective in fire-fighting. There is also a model used for zero-G training.

Teleglass T4-N wearable monitor

Optical device maker Scalar has added a limited-edition model to its line of video glasses. The Teleglass T4-N wearable monitor, which weighs 30 grams and features titanium frames by eyeglass designer Kazuo Kawasaki, was developed in cooperation with long-established manufacturer Masunaga Optical.

Teleglass T4-N connects to any NTSC-capable video player (including iPods, DVD's and TV) and delivers images directly to the eye via a pair of tiny monitors tucked away behind the lenses. The 640 x 480 screen resolution at close proximity simulates the effect of watching a 45-inch screen from 2 meters (6 feet) away, and each monitor can be focused and adjusted for an optimal picture that reduces eye strain. Audio is delivered through a pair of frame-mounted earphones.

With all the components hidden behind the lenses and crammed into the nosepiece, the lightweight Teleglass T4-N wearable monitor looks like a pair of stylish sunglasses. The monitors do not completely obstruct the view, allowing users to safely and comfortably enjoy audio-video entertainment during the course of everyday activities. Thus, the viewer is not completely oblivious to the surroundings if anyone else has entered the environment.

For now, 500 sets are available through the Scalar website, where they sell for 134,400 yen ($1,150) each.

Habbo Hotel- the virtual 2d world MORPG

Habbo Hotel is a virtual world for teens, created by a company in Finland called Sulake Labs. This busy site uses a hotel metaphor as its theme complete with a "lobby" gateway and private "guest rooms." The hotels are often so busy it can take a few tries to get into the main rooms, but there are always a plenty of guest rooms to choose from as well.

Guest rooms can be decorated with furniture (or "furni" as Habbos call it) purchased with "Habbo credits." Habbo credits can be purchased with several types of RL currency (UK Pounds sterling, euros, US dollars, Canadian dollars, and Australian dollars) in a wide variety of ways (credit card, mobile phone, prepaid stored value cards). Furni may set you back a few credits, but access to the world itself is free and relatively easy to navigate. Cool new additions to the Habbo catalogue include pets and pet accessories.

The main URL (www.habbohotel.com) points to the U.S. version of Habbo Hotel, but Habbo is an international phenomenon with several other versions of the Hotel for residents of 16 countries, including the United Kingdom, Finland, Japan, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, and Sweden.

This happens to be a review of the game from virtual worlds review website page. Having played this game and been a member since 2002, I've found it an addiction (similar to that of facebook). The interaction with other users around the world makes habbo out of the cliche. Offering options like customizing one's own room, buying furni (habbo furniture) and dressing up according to the users mood, makes it more personal. The 'cherry on top' however for this game is the mere fact it can be played online, the only download required is macromedia flash! So unlike the other virtual worlds, that are graphic intensive, this 2d game makes it faster and convenient  for users worldwide.
